The Ambrose Event is one of the most popular at our murraymasters.

Rules

Each team must use the first shot of each member at least once during the round. Holes are scored on best gross score.

You may place the ball within one club length of the taken shot – no nearer the hole and in the same cut, ie if in the rough, must be in the rough, in the bunker must be in the bunker

On the green, place a marker beside the shot to be used and place your ball within a hands width either side. Please mark on the card the name of the individual whose shot is being used

In the event of a count back, the following holes will be used :

Holes 2,6,9 aggregate (1st countback)
Holes 1,3,7 aggregate (2nd countback)
Holes 4,5,8 aggregate (3rd countback)
Holes 7,3,8,1,4,5,9,2,6 in sequence – first difference will determine the winner (4th countback)

The 2024 Clive Driscoll Memorial Ambrose was won after not only a triple dead heat, but on the third countback, per the rules above
