October 2024
Hi Everyone,
As could be expected, our Tournament Director was hot on the case with the results of this years Masters, which I hope to have faithfully reproduced in these pages. Please revert if you have any queries or would like updates. Also if you any photos of the event you would like published, feel free to email them direct.
On a personal note
It’s with some sadness to note Clive’s passing, his contribution to the Murray Masters was pervasive, always with a cheeky smile, a great player, a better sportsman and keen contestant, three times winner and a tough competitor, it seems only fitting that the ambrose be dedicated to a quintessential Murray Master
cheers Pete

November 2022
Hi Everyone,
Well what more could expect from this mad weather, here we are 4 weeks after the 2022 scheduled event, cancelled due to flooding, and in equal measure half of Victoria and New South Wales are still in flood….
By way of an update, I have revamped the Annual Results pages, including the handicaps of stage winners, and added the full list of the Ambrose Teams participants, for all events over the years
Good Golfing, and good luck for 2023
cheers Pedro

September 2022
Hi Everyone,
It is with some sadness we note the passing of Bruce Young. Bruce was a stalwart of the Murray Masters, and indeed in many ways the event would be very different if it were not for Bruce’s efforts and good humour, He will be missed by those who knew him. Vale : Bruce Young.

July 2022
Hi Everyone,
We note the days have once again started getting longer… time to break out the clubs after a 3 year hibernation, and clean away the mud and red dirt from 2019… there is not much time left to book those lessons, and clean out the golf bag, only to find that Mars Bar still there from 2019…
Seems we have a better than even chance of the landing the 19th Annual Murray Masters in just a little over 12 weeks …
cheers, and best of Luck ..
Pedro

November 2019
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to say as soon as the detailed stats have been compiled we update the website, in the meantime congratulations to Andrew for back to back wins, and here below a copy of the email from Rowelly with the abbreviated highlights !
Hi Guys,
I think that we have all arrived back safely after another great week-end at Murray Downs.
Terrific efforts by Andrew K (winning back to back Masters), Guy just missing out by a point on his first Masters, and Maxie for a tremendous round in the gale on Saturday, and just falling short on Sunday. Other terrific performance by Gibbo on Sunday, Vinnie on both Saturday and Sunday, Clive as always just cruising along nicely, and Joe who played some great shots on Sunday.
The ambrose team of Dave Redman, Mark and Slowy did extremely well as a threesome in tough conditions winning by two shots.
Other highlights on the course were Peter Mahler’s shot on the par 3 15th on Saturday, DO’Bs continued consistency, along with David Killen and Dave Redman who were also consistent.
Slowy had a good first round, however the All Black’s defeat on Saturday night may have got to him on Sunday, and of course Dupes and Rowelly tailed the field hoping for some handicap relief in 2020.
Once again, a positive dividend on the punt with Clive and Guy doing great work, setting the foundation for a $150 payout (much better than bank interest!)
A big thank you to Maxie, Andrew K and DO’B for their preparation and running of the Calcutta on Friday night, which once again proved to be a great success.
Two off field highlights were David Killen’s move to the wrong apartment when arriving, and the lady violinist was keen to meet him, and of course Vinnie’s early Friday morning venture to McDonald’s in the taxi, to get some Big Mac’s and cheeseburgers for those still awake.
The premium barbeque pack was the best we have had, and I mentioned that to Nicole and Mick this morning before leaving.
We are booked in again for next year – tee times have been reserved along with accommodation, and look forward to catching up again in 52 weeks time if not before.
Cheers,
Rowelly
Cheers from Pedro !

Hi Everyone,
Just added all Joe’s ~200 photos from 2015, you’ll find them in two places, either the annual album, AND in your personal history. Sort of a bibliography, if you are in the photo it’s in your personal gallery.
All errors and omissions are mine, if there are any corrections or changes you’d like, flick me an email
regards
Pedro
